AEE Update 2.17.26
AEE Members,
We are sending an email in lieu of a member meeting, as there are no updates to give regarding the ODOT Budget and potential layoffs. You can follow along with what is happening at the Capitol by going to www.oregonlegislature.gov. ODOT Agency leadership has suggested employees keep checking this website for information . You can follow the House Transportation Committee (meet Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 am), Senate Transportation Committee (meets Monday at 5 pm) and the Joint Committee on Transportation and Economic Development (meets Tuesday and Thursday at 3 pm). The meetings are recorded so you can watch them if you are not able to watch the live event.
AEE continues to meet regularly with ODOT leadership and HR, though they still don’t have updates about the budget as mentioned above. HR is planning on pulling the seniority report around February 18th. We strongly recommend that you check your Workday profile for classification (job profile), length of service, and work address to verify your information and contact HR/Workday for corrections ASAP.
AEE learned that SEIU was able to meet with all managers with SEIU employees. AEE will be doing the same at a meeting with the managers of AEE employees on Thursday, February 19th. We are there to remind management that AEE is a resource to help them and their employees, provide contact information to share, and to discuss the outcome of the group grievance settlement and updates to Article 6.5.
A settlement agreement for the layoff grievance from last fall’s layoff process has been reached and includes new Article 6.5 language. DAS and AEE have agreed to incorporate that language into the contract, and re-publish the 2025-2027 contract. The executed settlement and revised/redlined Article 6.5 can be found on the AEE Website. Several other errors were found in the contract, and it is planned to fix those as well. That will delay the printing of the contract books, but we will get those out as soon as we can.
For members with Providence Health Insurance, if you did not see PEBB’s email dated February 11, 2026 9:05 am, please look for that. There is also information on the PEBB website. AEE has heard from one member that had providers that no longer accept Providence Insurance. You have until the end of February to change health insurance providers through PEBB, if that is something you feel you need to do.
And finally, AEE will be hosting a lunch meeting Saturday, March 14th noon - 2 in Eugene at Roaring Rapids Pizza. We are also in the early stages of planning an in-person event for Salem area employees at the Materials Lab in Salem. Keep an eye out for more information as the plans for events solidify. We hope to continue our in person outreach through the year, but we need members to help us get these events off the ground.
We will plan on holding a virtual meeting soon, once we have more solid information to share.
In Unity
