Letter of Agreement (LOA)

AEE members,

After many discussions between AEE and DAS, we have signed a Letter of Agreement (LOA). DAS was unwilling to make many of the changes we requested because the language they provided had been vetted by the State DOJ. We felt it was important to get this in place before the end of the pay period so members affected by situations like school or daycare closures would have access to accrued sick leave so they could take care of their children. It is understood this is a living document that will be renegotiated as State and Federal Legislation Bills pass.

DAS has committed to sending out communication and adding AEE to the FAQs being sent out so managers and our members are clear that AEE does and did have an agreement in place. This LOA is retroactive to March 13th.

Our hope is this LOA will help assuage our members fears and concerns regarding the unknown path we are all on together. We think it is especially important to recognize that although management might not have all been sending out a unified message, the Agencies have been taking care of its employees (or at least we haven’t heard otherwise to date) and members should expect they will continue to be considered in future decisions. The State by its actions has shown that its employees are their most valuable asset. AEE is now included in bi-weekly check-in meetings with the Agency and has the opportunity for direct input as well as an avenue to voice our concerns.

In Unity,

Association Engineering Employees of Oregon
