ODOT Layoffs

AEE Bargaining Unit Members –

As you likely know by now, ODOT has announced plans to lay off a large number of employees. AEE met with ODOT Sunday afternoon and held an emergency board meeting to discuss these developments. We’ve confirmed that a significant number of our members will be impacted. AEE is still waiting on both the layoff list and the current seniority list from the Agency. We know that uncertainty adds to the frustration of the moment, and we will do our best to get answers to questions you must have learning this troubling news.

Here is what we do know:

  • The August 2024 Agency Request Budget (ARB) layoff list is outdated and should not be relied upon.

  • Managers will begin verbally notifying impacted employees this week.

  • Official written notification to impacted employees is expected to begin July 7th.

  • Article 6.5 of the CBA governs layoffs.

  • Additional information will be coming from AEE in the coming days.

Most of us have not experienced a layoff process in the past, and certainly not one of this magnitude. Many of us will experience a wide range of concerns and fears in the coming days and weeks. Please continue to support one another now more than ever. Know that AEE is working diligently on your behalf and will continue to engage with ODOT management in the coming days and weeks.

AEE is here to help. Please direct your questions to the AEE office using your personal email address
