Bargaining Update

AEE members,

Wednesday’s bargaining started positive with hopes of completing the last four outstanding articles. It ended 12 hours later in a stalemate. The State and the AEE Bargaining team have a fundamental disagreement about how pay equity should be included in the contract and how the State is using it. Both sides have returned to their respective “corners” and are considering how we can move past the disagreement. It may include bringing in a mediator. There are currently no scheduled bargaining dates, until next steps are determined. Some time will allow both sides to look for ways to come closer together towards an agreement. The AEE Bargaining Team continues to fight the good fight for the best outcome we can achieve. More information will be shared once we know more about what the next steps are.
